In one of my groups It was asked, “What have you done to empower women?” As I can do, I waxed passionate :). I realize that what I answered is pretty core in all my consulting work. So here is my answer..Comment, share and like at will!
What have I done to empower women?
Acceptance
Often we feel pressure (from inside and out) to say yes to everything, but it’s important to remember that it’s okay to say no. Not only is it OK, it is imperative to have the ‘No’ response to an inquiry as a very valid option! The thing is you see, if you come from a family belief system that values their members to ‘make nice’ or ‘think of others BEFORE you think of yourself’, allowing ‘No’ to be a valid response to a request or an invitation will seem something like a betrayal of a foundational value.

Relationships
Wedding season is upon us, so what better time to give a little marriage advice? My husband and I continue to choose marriage for over 40 years now, so it could be that I am an expert on the subject. 🙂 Please notice that I use the words ‘choose marriage’ because that may be the biggest piece of advice I can give. You may say, ‘Of course I am choosing!’ and I agree. And there are many levels of choice to be aware of when contemplating getting married. Culturally, one of the reasons we have an engagement before getting married is so we can take the time to decide what our reasons are for getting married. Remember that there is no right way to approach the life style of marriage. As a life coach, or relationships guide, I do what I can to have you be conscious of why you make the choices you do rather than dictate that one way is better than the other.

Careers
Following your passion can be difficult with the realities and demands of life. When you hit a fork in the road, it’s a good time to take stock and make changes.
When I was younger, (a lot younger :)), I thought that everyone was supposed to be like me and be so clear about their passion that they couldn’t do anything else but find work and make a career out of what makes their hearts sing. But the more I worked life-coaching people by creating safe containers so they could radically accept themselves, I came to realize that people like me are fewer in number than I had expected.
Growth
Intuition is forefront in our lives but can be difficult to define. A list of 10 ways intuitives are different was recently compiled and as I am always so darn grateful when others address bringing the intuitive into the every day or the ordinary, I thought that sharing this article here with you all would be the way to go. Remember that intuition is something that comes with being human like the color of your eyes or your emotions or your intellect…..it is a part of you that you can become more aware of and develop. Compassion
Happy New Year! I hope this finds you and yours aware, awake and compassionate as you step into this new year.
The holiday season was a mixed bag for me. I enjoy the deepening into the dark that living in the Pacific northwest brings at winter’s solstice. I relish the dark mornings that commence with the lighting of candles and sitting in front of the fire with my coffee and the twinkling Christmas tree. For myself, I can’t think of a easier way to enter the day than that!
Acceptance
As many of you may know, I have dedicated a lot of my energy, curiosity and love to The Inner Yaga Foundation. It is a foundation that is dedicated to inviting women into life acceptance by encouraging peer run circles that are made safe to practice vulnerability by providing an agreed upon structure.
We had our Fall Training in mid October. This training, as last year’s, was profound for me. As the Weekend Coordinator, the experience of being the center of the ‘hive mind’ of such a collaborative group of women filled me with awe, hope, gratitude, trust and faith.
Acceptance
It has been about 25 years since I have experienced such a free hearted summer as I did this summer. I so want to remember this so I can apply some of the same factors I did in years to come. It has something to do being consciously aware of the season I am in. It also involves an almost radical release of my will; along with my attachment to controlling the situation presenting from my will manifests. But allowing the ease of the flavor each season naturally contributes into the dynamic brings such a sweetness into the practice of life acceptance.
Acceptance
Referred by colleagues in the healing arts, prospective clients often contact me without really knowing what an intuitive counselor can do for them. Struggling with health concerns, depression, anxiety, or detachment from their everyday lives, few of them realize that their symptoms may be a call for them to access the deep inner self. I have found that each individual is rich in symbolic language. Just as we collectively interpret a red light to mean, ‘Stop!’ any form of discomfort can be a sign from our spirit to cease regular activity. A headache or a panic attack may be an urgent message, just as important to one’s safety and wellbeing as a stop sign. What is the message? That’s to be determined.
